Claire Good

Flute

Claire embarked on her flute journey at the age of 11 under the guidance of Crystal Duffee, a pivotal moment that set her on a path of musical discovery. Over the years, her dedication and passion propelled her into prestigious ensembles, including the Iowa All-State Band & Orchestra and the Quad City Youth Symphony Orchestra.

In 2017, Claire's commitment to her musical pursuit was rewarded when she won the Quad City Youth Ensembles Concerto Competition, leading her to perform the first movement of the Jacques Ibert Flute Concerto accompanied by the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, the Quad City Youth Symphony Orchestra awarded Claire with the esteemed Katz Scholarship. Alongside her professional musical pursuits, Claire shared her love for flute with her local Catholic Church, enriching the worship experience through her flute performances.

During her undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa, Claire pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication and a minor in Music. She immersed herself fully in the university’s musical ensembles, where she participated in the University of Iowa Flute Studio, Hawkeye Marching Band, Symphony Band, and the University of Iowa Honors Undergraduate Woodwind Quintet. Claire’s academic journey continues in pursuit of a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration at Louisiana State University. As a flute teacher, she draws from her academic background to create an uplifting environment where students can explore their musical potential with scholarly depth and artistic expression!
