Brandon began studying music at the age of 10, starting with guitar, and then also taking up violin shortly after. Eventually he studied other instruments; such as the mandolin, bass guitar, viola, and piano.
Brandon started studying composition at the age of 14, which he continued to pursue into college. He received his B.A. in music from St Ambrose University, with a focus in composition, and violin performance as well. He has been teaching professionally since 2018, and some of his original pieces have been performed by the Moline High School Symphonic Orchestra and the St Ambrose University String Ensemble.
Brandon also has a thorough background in alternative styles such as rock, metal, electronic, and jazz music. He has been a member of the Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Camp for many years since it began in 2010, and was also part of the Black Hawk Community College Jazz Band during his time there. Brandon has performed with the Clinton Symphony Orchestra, and has also done session work for various artists local and abroad. He enjoys casually studying metal musicology in his spare time.
