This is an American made piano manufactured by Baldwin which owned Chickering at the time. It has elements of the original Chickering design such as the wide tail for richer tone as well as Baldwin innovations like the Accu-just hitch pins for sustained tone in the treble.

The sound of this instrument is remarkable. The wide tail allows for a bigger soundboard than in other pianos of equal or even greater size.
